Requirement
This school wanted to create some additional space for two offices plus a special ‘breakout’ area, that was not a classroom but a room where children could come for one to one sessions or simply to get a breather from the classroom environment. It is in fact a standalone building but has a covered walkway linking it to the main school. We offer a complete turnkey service from ground preparation to decoration. For this project the school used their own contractors to clear and level the designated area, prior to our build teams’ arrival.
Our Solution
Linking roof overhang: Though a standalone building we designed this new school facility with a large overhanging roof that seamlessly ties into the existing building, as shown in the images. It gives sheltered access into the building and an integral feel with the rest of the school.
Two Offices: Many schools are crying out for more administration / office space. This Education Spaces building incorporated two much needed offices, each with its own window, power supply and fire alarm.
Glazing: The school wanted to create a very light bright cheerful room and to that end, it was designed with six large windows (6 x 0.9m wide x 2.05m high) spanning two sides, each with top opening rapid vents.
French Doors: 1.8m wide x 2.05m high French Doors have low threshold for disabled access and high security 5-point locking.
Ramped access: The wide ramp with wooden balustrade allows easy access from the playground.
Energy efficient lighting: For gloomier days, 6 Lux LED panels ensure great light without high energy bills.
Electrical Installations: In addition to the Lux panels our highly experienced electrician installed 7 double power sockets, 4 external LED down lights and one smoke detector per room.
