Dormers Well Junior school, like so many, required more classroom and staffroom space but instead of a standalone solution, they envisaged extending the existing school, to better utilise some rough ground at the back of two existing rooms. Education Spaces offer complete flexibility in how we create the additional space required by a school and are experienced in extensions as well as stand-alone buildings. The plot of land the school had in mind looked out over the playground with fields beyond and so it was important the design capitalised on these inspiring views. As the images show, an existing external wall became an internal partition between two classroom spaces with a connecting door between and glazed double doors to the outside with high security five point locking. As with all our buildings, this extension was constructed using SIPs panels, so is highly thermally efficient and swift to build, minimising disruption to teaching.
