Bedmond Primary school wanted to create another classroom primarily for cookery lessons. The only available real estate was a courtyard within the school complex, which purportedly housed chickens at one time! Space and access was tight but we are used to building within confined areas and due to the nature of our builds, rarely requires large mechanical equipment. It’s noteworthy to say this fabulous multipurpose classroom came to fruition as a result of immense effort on the part of the school, including fund raising events. We worked closely with the school, revising the design a number of times to ensure it came in on budget and was acceptable to the Planning Officers. Despite these constraints it incorporates a number of bespoke features in addition to the high grade safety, security and energy efficiency features that define all our buildings.
